Check the cable and the source together.
A case organizes your equipment; it does not provide electricity. A USB-C-to-DC cable also needs an appropriate power source. Check the requirements of the exact cable, the output profile of the port you intend to use, and the Mini connection.
| Connection | Official requirement |
|---|---|
| Mini DC input | 12–48 V DC, 60 W input rating |
| Official Mini USB-C-to-barrel accessory | 100 W USB PD source, 20 V / 5 A minimum |
The Mini input rating and the requirement for the official USB-C accessory describe different parts of the power setup. Follow the requirement for the configuration you use.

Read the output on the relevant port.
- For the official USB-C accessory, check that the chosen USB-C port supports 20 V / 5 A and the required power delivery profile.
- A multi-port charger's combined 100 W label does not tell you what one port delivers, especially with another device connected.
- A phone charger or a battery with a USB-C socket is not automatically suitable.
- The cases shown on this website include the case and EVA insert only. Select and verify power cables separately.
Test the complete setup before travel. Confirm the Mini starts, connects and remains powered with your intended combination of equipment. A cable's wattage label does not establish how many hours a battery will run your Mini.
Read the battery label before you pack
Watts (W) describe power; watt-hours (Wh) describe energy. Read a power bank's capacity and output specifications separately. A Wh capacity figure alone does not establish whether it can provide the 100 W USB PD output at 20 V / 5 A specified for Starlink's official Mini USB-C cable.
The checks below are FPVtosky preparation recommendations. Use the battery manufacturer's specifications for your exact model and port, then test the complete setup before travel.
| What to check | What the information tells you |
|---|---|
| Capacity / energy | Find the manufacturer's Wh rating. Keep it separate from the port's W output rating; capacity alone does not establish compatibility. |
| Output of the actual USB-C port | Check its USB PD output profile against the official cable requirement above. An input-only charging specification describes charging the battery, not powering Mini. |
| Cable and connections | Identify every cable and adapter you will use. Check their own specifications; matching connector shapes alone do not prove compatibility. |
| Complete setup before travel | Test the actual battery, port and cable together. Record the model, connections and result. A label check alone is not a compatibility test. |
This checklist does not establish how long your battery will run Mini. We have not tested or certified a third-party power bank through this guide. Once your setup is checked, use the Mini travel packing checklist to prepare the equipment you will carry.

Starlink Mini connector protection: check both ends
The Mini terminal, each cable connection, the power source and the transport case have their own protection conditions. An IP rating at the Mini connection does not establish weather protection for the entire power setup.
| Part of the setup | What Starlink documents |
|---|---|
| Official Mini USB-C cable: Mini end | The barrel-jack connection to Mini is described as IP67-rated. Follow the installation instructions; Mini's power plug should be fully inserted with its face flush with the surface. |
| Official Mini USB-C cable: USB-C end | Starlink says this end should not be exposed to outdoor environments. The Mini-end rating does not extend to a connected battery or charger. |
| Mini Ethernet connection | Mini's IP67 Type 4 rating is conditional on the DC power cable and Starlink plug or cable being installed. Starlink states that using a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable removes Mini's IP67 rating. |
| Official Mini Car Adapter | Starlink says the USB-C end and car adapter should not be exposed to outdoor environments. Check the source and every connection, even when the terminal is outdoors. |
These references describe Starlink's specified hardware and connections. Check a third-party cable, adapter or power bank against its own instructions. Neither the terminal rating nor the official cable guidance certifies an FPVtosky carrying case.

FPVtosky packing suggestions
- Disconnect power before packing. Check the plugs, cable jackets and ports for visible damage or debris.
- Arrange disconnected cable ends in their own space. Avoid tight bends beside plugs, heavy accessories resting on them, or a cable crossing the lid edge.
- Check that equipment and the case lining are clean and dry before closing the case. A transport case does not provide instructions for operating the equipment inside it.
These are handling suggestions, not a Starlink-certified packing procedure. Use the Mini case storage layout checklist to plan the terminal, cables and power accessories together.
Check what each case includesStarlink Mini power bank questions
Can I power Starlink Mini with a battery?
Starlink says a battery can be used if it meets Mini's power requirements. For the official Mini USB-C cable, check for a 100 W USB PD source at 20 V / 5 A and verify the complete setup before travel.
Does a larger Wh rating mean a power bank will work?
Wh describes energy capacity. It does not specify the USB-C port's power output. Check the output profile separately against the requirements for your Mini cable and connection.
Can the battery label tell me exactly how long Mini will run?
The capacity and output ratings help you assess different parts of the setup. They do not establish a tested runtime for your battery and Mini. Check the complete setup under the conditions in which you plan to use it.
Is the official Mini USB-C cable waterproof at both ends?
Starlink describes an IP67-rated barrel-jack connection to Mini, while stating that the USB-C end should not be exposed to outdoor environments. Check the connection-by-connection guidance above and the instructions for your power source.
Power requirements: Starlink Mini specifications. Battery label checks and pre-trip testing are FPVtosky recommendations.
